AAS Health Office
The AAS Health Center is staffed by two full-time Registered Nurses from the start of the school day until 18:00. The staff is trained and equipped to provide immediate first aid, treatment of minor injuries, and health-related information to students, staff and members of the wider School community. If a student needs to receive medication while at school, the Health Center staff is able to administer it according to written parental consent.
For serious illness or accidents requiring further medical treatment, parents are notified and arrangements made as necessary. In the event of a serious incident requiring immediate assistance, an ambulance will be summoned from the nearby Civil Marine Hospital.
Throughout the year, the Health Center performs health screenings for all students and reviews health records for required immunizations or tests. The flu vaccination and tick-borne encephalitis vaccination programs are offered seasonally, and are open to staff and family members as well.
The Health Center staff is also on hand to provide assistance at the various extra-curricular activities outside of school hours - for example, sporting events and practices, and after-school activities.
Please feel free to contact the Health Center at 231-4488 x3711, or stop by and visit us in Room 1011. You are always welcome.
